Best restaurant I have dined in so far in Rochester. Everything we sampled was delicious, and there were some very excellent and creative cocktails, executed flawlessly. We dined inside which was a bit loud in the lively environment, but the outdoor seating also looked very inviting. I will definitely be back if I have the opportunity.

We had an amazing meal. What an affordable, close to home way to try on-point, modern, Californian fine dining. Their outside patio is lovely. I went for the special, and it was a delicious squid ink pasta with tomato, calamari, pecorino... Honestly, don't even know, but I enjoyed every bite! My fiancee's dish was a perfectly cooked halibut with clams and this amazing, frothy coconut curry... Mind-blowing. What an experience!

Like many other reviewers, we had an unforgettable culinary experience. We were seated promptly, as we arrived on time, in a corner booth, allowing us to talk easily and be close. The wine selection was extensive! But we each elected for some cocktails, which paired well with the meal. We shared the gnocchi which was scrumptious and I would eat so much more of it! But i wanted to save room for the main course. I chose the salmon which was paired with light vegetables/puree and bacon which... didn't overpower the salmon. My boyfriend chose the grilled chicken, which was wonderfully and boldly seasoned while also being juicy. However it was paired with jasmine rice that made the meal heavier than the salmon. Perhaps we should've gotten the Brussels sprouts. Overall we were delighted in the experience and celebration of our anniversary. Well done Redd!Also I noted the wait staff were phenomenal, always moving, always attentive. Yet we didn't feel that our waitress Allie (not sure of spelling) was overly interruptive. Two Words: Consistently Amazing!!!!I’m a foodie, I love good food and fine dining. There aren’t many restaurants in Rochester I haven’t tried but “REDD” takes the cake (by far). We have several great restaurants in Rochester but no one matches the consistency I continue to experience at REDD.I only leave reviews once a restaurant has proven to be amazing across 3 separate experiences. I’ve been to REDD 7 or 8 times now, and they never cease to amaze me. Let’s start with the exceptional... customer service……Customer Service: There’s always someone at the host station when I arrive. Engaged with a warm smile and a very welcoming culture. I’ve never been asked to wait for my table, upon arrival my table is readily available. The combined attentiveness of multiple staff members makes for a very efficient dining experience. My drink never sits empty without a server asking if I’d like a refill. Empty plates never left sitting on the table making it crowded. My favorite waiter is this gentleman named Mason. This guy not only remembers my name but memorizes every detail of every order I make, he’s “the” perfect example of incredible extraordinary service.A+ Customer serviceFood Quality: When I heard we had a Michelin-starred chef in Rochester, I couldn’t wait to see if the food quality matched the accolades. I was SOLD the moment I tasted the Risotto (then Lobster/Now shrimp). I love a good Risotto but this is no ordinary Risotto, the combination of lemon and truffle elevates this dish to new heights. Knowing how easy it is to over/under cook Risotto, they’ve executed the consistency correctly EVERY TIME.The Glazed Pork Belly is unthinkably delicious, the sauce is heavenly and the tenderness of the pork belly is impossible replicate, don’t you dare use a knife to cut into that, your fork is more than enough. On my fourth visit I tried the Thai chili glaze wings. I thought to myself “upscale restaurants typically do a lousy job when it comes to a good chicken wing”. Ha! Not this chef! I still don’t know how he does it. To put that amount of sauce on a wing and still maintain the crispness of the skin is not easy.The steak is unmatched (Finally, someone understand the true temperature of a medium steak). The scallops are caramelized to perfection! Last and certainly not least, the dessert. HOLY JESUS! I wish I knew the exact name of this dessert I had, it’s almost like a custard and the flavor is Butterscotch. I’m not a fan of butterscotch anything but this dessert is ridiculously good. It’s served in a small bowl and its chilledA+ Food QualityThe Price: The prices are exactly what I expect to pay for fine dining. As they saying goes “You get what you pay for”. Relative to other places I frequent, like Tournedos, Rose Tavern or Next door Bar and Grill, REDD prices are very fair. An absolutely amazing experience.We made reservations for 5:45pm and showed up 15 minutes early. Due to being early, we were offered to head towards the bar for a drink. It seems they strictly abide by the reservation time and will not seat you if you are early, which is fine. To the bar we went for a couple of drinks before heading back to the host stand to be seated at our table.We received water by a kind gentleman named, "Jacob." I asked Jacob if he would kindly take picture of us and... without hesitation he happily did. We started off with a couple of appetizers. The Gnocchi which was absolutely phenomenal. Very light and airy. It was like biting into little clouds. An excellent starter. The girlfriend opted in for the Glazed Pork Belly. Perfect meat to fat ratio. Rich and accompanied by a great apple salad with a lovely vinaigrette.For mains, I opted in for the Caramelized Scallops. It did not only have a stunning presentation but is easily one of the best scallop dishes I've had. Perfectly seared scallops which accompanied with cauliflower, capers, raisins and almonds. Absolutely delicious. As for the girlfriend, she ordered the Grilled Chicken. The chicken was a generous portion, bone-on and moist. Very impressive for such a thick piece of chicken to be moist and flavourful. We did order both sides available on the menu. The Fried Marble Potatoes were just okay, but the Wood Oven-Roasted Brussel Sprouts were great. I would have liked to see just a few more options for sides vs. two and for $12 each, I found this was a bit steep for the fried marble potatoes but worth every penny for the brussel sprouts.We ended our meal with a dessert which I can't remember the exact name for. It was a thick custard with a lovely maple flavour. Our server was kind to place a candle on the dessert being my girlfriend's birthday.After my dinner experience here at REDD, this easily became one of my top 5 restaurants in Rochester, NY. Holy wow, I am so glad we came here!!!! The hostess that first greeted us was extremely kind and attentive (you don’t always get this when you walk into a restaurant). Our server, Jared, was great and relieved my worries about ordering the chicken dish (I had a very bad experience at The Revelry last week). We started with drinks and in total tried the Queen’s Nectar, Late Registration, The Macallister Mule and the Espresso Martini, all of which were fantastic! For our appetizer we got the... special of the day which was a lettuce cup ground pork creation that tasted phenomenal. For dinner we had the duck confit and the grilled chicken (off of their winter menu). Both of these dishes were cooked to perfection, literally no complaints. Also, between courses, a runner wipes down your table and brings you new silverware! I cannot tell you how many times I have been to restaurants and had to use the same silverware changing the flavor of the dish. On a final note, there was a runner (server assistant) name Kelvin, who was so personable, that I had to write about him in this review. Went for dinner last night food as always was great. What I loved the most was all the smiling faces. Its been very depressing in NY the last 2 years. Thanks for bringing back some normalcy to our lives even if it was just for dinner. It was very freeing. Thank you

The ingredients in the vegan soup were remarkable. The portion was the size of a main course. Wonderful salads and the scallops were well received (should have got the larger portion!). And the staff worked really well together. Job well done in the back and front of the house.

Worth every penny. Sometimes, expensive restaurants can leave you feeling less than satisfied based on the meal and experience you get for what you paid. I have never experienced that at Redd. The food and service has always been amazing. If you can get your reservation on a night when they have the chef's menu, I can't recommend this option enough... Just spectacular. Truly one of the gems of Rochester dining.

Fantastic California styled restaurant with wonderful cocktails and food. They have a large patio area if you are more comfortable outdoors with an area that is covered with heaters. Servers wear face masks and the service is immaculate. The cocktails are great. What's not to love about a drink called The Mangolorian?! The wine and food wad amazing topped off by great desserts including a candle for my husband's birthday! Would definitely go again!

Super stoked I found this place!!! Both the aesthetic & food were amazing — the service too. The whole parking situation was another perk. I assumed I’d have to park on the street, considering it’s downtown, but discovered they have their own lot which anyone can appreciate. Guys or gals, take yo person on a date here👀(;

Great atmosphere for a special occasion! The food was delicious and the service was great. Enjoyed grabbing a drink at the bar before being seated, and once seated honestly had a tough time picking what to order because everything looked good!

The rigatoni and Scallops were delicious! The wait staff were kind and funny, so we had a wonderful experience dining here. On the night we dined, the kitchen surprised us with 2 complementary dishes which we enjoyed as well!

Loved this place. The apps were amazing: gnocchi, lobster risotto, pork belly.Mains pictured: soba noodles with scallops (added) and duck confit.Everyone loved their meals, and the prosciutto pizza was also delicious.The special mixed drinks this week were good, but not great, so stick to your normal cocktail that you love, or wine/beer.Thanks for having us. Will be back!

Absolutely fantastic restaurant. Menu is not overly extensive, but every appetizer and main dish is so full of flavor and so perfectly crafted that you will not wish for more options. Cocktails are I hope of this world and concocted perfectly. The bartenders and waiters are as attentive as can be. The atmosphere is immaculate and we will definitely be coming back many times.

Really excellent restaurant from start to finish. I really loved the pork belly appetizer and the prosciutto pizza! Really no bad dish on the menu. The special entrée of the night was a pork chop over creamed corn with a delicious red pepper sauce and grilled shishito peppers – that was SO Delicious!! Our server, Sean, was great - friendly, attentive but not intrusive. Really can’t go wrong here!
