In what can sometimes feel like an armpit city, Redd is a swanky little hideaway from the noise that is Rochester as a whole.Id first like to start off by saying, the second you walk in , you are warmly hugged by a dimensional aroma of smokiness, clean laundry, expensive cologne and meat. It's a nostalgic inviting smell that is iconic enough to warrant replicating for a candle. It's the exact smell you want to smell when you want to feel like you chose the right restaurant and start to feel... like you know the meal ahead of you is going to be good.The smoked bourbon cocktail was off the charts and every bit worth the price tag. Perfect kick off, full body, full taste, well rounded and what I would dub THE ice breaker drink of choice. We chose to follow that up with the tuna tartare and lettuce wraps. The tuna was beautiful, so fresh, it didn't need much to compliment it beyond the rice puffs. The lettuce wraps would be nice as a treat to someone who is unfamiliar with them but I found the salinity to be a touch overbearing, which slightly distracted me.Brian was a stand-up, one of a kind guy, just the right amount of personable and agreeable. He very much understood the delicacy of how high-end waiting works. He gave suggestions, was informed about the menu beyond his favorites and really was prepared to give a full out description of anything and everything we were interested in so my guest and I could curate a perfect meal.We ordered 3/4 things off the specials menu. I have wanted to try Redd for ages and I nearly fell out of my chair to see Ramen. It was a no brainer for me. My stepmom indulged in the Thai chicken. The ramen was show stopping, pickled ginger and an udon noodle that maintained it's shape and texture, on top of the pork belly that was cooked to absolute perfection, completely took me to a different world. Compared to the thai chicken, the ramen was the absolute star of the show. The broth was so flavorful and delicious, my only critique would be to just slightly water it down a little more. There was such an abundance of flavor, I just felt like it could be stretched a tad more to compliment and give room for all the other outstanding offerings this bowl had to offer.My main take away, aside from what I ordered, is that the head chef has a clear head regarding the community he's servicing. The menu reflects high-end but has flexibility for budget friendly options for people who want flavor complexity and experience, especially when reviewing the wood fired portion of the menu. The location and parking is perfect, has the low light/glow ambiance but the spotify playlist in particular was the cherry on top.Overall, Bravo. I was treated for my birthday and this was an excellent place to spend celebrating another year older. Thank you to everyone who serviced us!read more

OMG! The “A” in bartender Alex’s name stands for amazing! We stopped in visiting from out of town and will definitely be coming back on our next trip. Highly recommend the champagne papi and the sea scallops!

Amazing food, everything came out so fast and the server was awesome. The drinks took a little bit longer but they were delicious. The only thing is that the tables for two felt pretty close together, it would’ve been nice to be a little further away from other diners. Highly recommend.

My husband and I have come here several times now, and we are blown away every time. We like to try a bunch of appetizers, and usually end up ordering something off the menu of specials, since there is always something spectacular. The salads, the pizzas, the entrees, the starters — all excellent. The service is fantastic. We are so proud to have Redd here in the ROC.

Great atmosphere and remarkable food! The flavor of the chef's special (cod, jasmine rice, mussles, chorizo, cilantro, & cocnut milk curry) and brussels sprout appetizer was amazing. Will definitely be back.

We went to Redd last night for my brothers bday dinner and I have to say the entire dining experience from start to finish was amazing! The wings were cooked to perfection and so flavorful, the apple pecan salad was delicious and large enough to share. For dinner I had the butternut squash agnolotti which was top notch! I have never been to a restaurant where each dish kept getting better and better, Kudos to the chef! All of the staff were so friendly and welcoming and our waitress Bella was... the absolutely best! so sweet and patient an did a wonderful job explaining all of the dishes and checking on us throughout the evening!read more

My husband and I eloped a few years ago where we made a sort of date day out of getting married. We ended our night at Redd, which was truly unforgettable! We still look back and are so so thankful for their thoughtful and kind service and absolutely delicious food! We felt completely spoiled on our special day, the staff kindly giving us some free extra goodies from the kitchen as a way to celebrate this next chapter in our lives. Thank you so much Redd! Went here with a bunch of colleagues from work. Place was pretty packed for a Wednesday. We made reservations ahead of time and were seated in the back. After a few cocktails we ordered main course and i also ordered the tuna fish tartare starter. The dish was very original with the addition of the rice crispies (see pic). The tuna was fresh and delicious. Main course i had the scallops which were seared to perfection. Environment is a bit loud (hard to have a conversation). Waitress was very... professional. Redd was very good. The portion sizes were really nice so we got 3 courses. We had the pork belly appetizers, our main, and shared the butterscotch dessert. All were fantastic!

Made a reservation for my dads birthday here and it was fantastic! Liz was so sweet and was able to help accommodate the reservation time as my elderly grandma was attending the dinner. Liz greeted us upon arrival with a birthday welcome and just made the night so special! Thank you!! Can’t wait to come back. Beautiful restaurant and great food.

In town for business from foodie city Chicago, where I regularly eat excellent meals, but REDD just blew my mind! The food was exquisite, service just the right amount of attentive & friendly. We lucked out with a glorious evening to sit outside, which was the cherry on top. There were about 7 other things on the menu that I wanted to try, not to mention dessert. Will be back. We were celebrating our anniversary and were welcomed with a glass of champagne to start, which was a sweet surprise. Food is always amazing. We had the lobster risotto, apple salad and wings to start. Shared the scallops for our entree and ended with the chocolate tarte. All fresh with amazing flavors. The wings were the stand out, so so good! The cauliflower and almonds served under the scallops was to dies for and the chocolate tarte at the end…delightful! We had such a wonderful time at Redd. From the moment we walked in the staff made us feel welcome and taken care of. The atmosphere is stylish but still comfortable which makes it easy to relax and enjoy the evening. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and professional and the service could not have been better.The food was excellent from start to finish. My steak was cooked perfectly and had so much flavor. It was exactly what I was hoping for and truly one of the best I have had in a... long time. Every dish we tried was beautifully presented and you could tell how much care and attention goes into the menu.Redd is a place we can always count on for an outstanding meal and a great night out. It is consistently excellent in both food and service and has quickly become one of our favorite restaurants in Rochester. We are already looking forward to our next visit.read more

The pork belly was fantastic, although I thought the grilled chicken was a little bland. I would recommend getting something else because everyone was talking about how good their dish was! However, everything tasted good overall and the service was great despite how busy it was. Great atmosphere too. Definitely recommend.

I had seen Redd come up on google searches before when I looked for a spot for a nice dinner, but it hadn't caught my attention over our favorite spots.Now that we've finally gone, I can't recommend it enough! Great service, and great food. The outdoor seating was beautiful and comfortable. We went for lunch, and felt like we got the full fine dining experience- no one was phoning it in! Our server, Frank, was knowledgeable, attentive without being overbearing, and made great recommendations... (so glad we got the dessert).We'll definitely be back for more.read more

We chose a high top table and the bar area and had a great view of the restaurant that is very efficiently managed. We were served by the sommelier. There is an excellent wine selection, by the glass and bottle. We did not know that they served pizza and wings and as we saw a order of wings go by, we asked about it when the server passed by again and the lead waiter sent two wing's to our table gratis! My wife had haddock and loved it. I had bouillabaisse and it was very good. Very nice indoor... and outdoor seating.read more

Every dish I’ve had here has been exceptional—perfectly prepared and presented, and absolutely delicious. Chef Richard is a true culinary artist. The atmosphere is inviting and is refined but not pretentious. I highly recommend!

Food was excellent and the service was top notch. I had the grilled chicken and it had just the right amount of spice and flavor. The chicken was cooked to perfection. I also had the "after the storm" drink which was perfectly made. Plenty of parking too.

We have been to Redd a number of times and decided to go last night for my birthday. We had a reservation for four people but ended up waiting a while. Typically we would have left a restaurant that had us waiting almost 30 minutes but we get it, things happen.The reason we stayed was how the staff handled the situation. Not only did the Manager, Giovanna (I think that is her name sorry if I am mistaken!) profusely apologize but she went out of her way to make sure we were taken care of and... had a fantastic experience. They truly went above and beyond to turn our evening around!The food is always amazing but the experience, kindness, and service you receive is what keep us coming back. the best restaurant in rochester! i have never experienced such good service before- the wait staff were professional, kind, and very efficient. we got complimentary cookies from the kitchen and they were so good! would highly recommend the pork belly, lobster risotto, scallops, and butterscotch pudding. i will definitely be coming back!

Moved to the Rochester area from SoCal about a year ago. Last night’s dinner at Redd was the best meal we’ve had at a restaurant in years! Food, presentation, waitstaff, vibe….Redd has it all!

Went here for my anniversary and was greeted with a drink to toast which was nice. Great service from our server and his assistant. The food was very good, my Peruvian steak was over salty for me & the tiramisu was on the smaller side, but everything else was amazing. The pork chop, and the tuna tartare was good but the star of the show is Roberta’s bee sting pizza. The drinks were also fun.
